I literally had my colonoscopy early this AM… from booking my first appointment, having the consultation, and now having finished the procedure things could not have gone smoother.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Ascunce for many years and today I repeat my opinions! He is the Best Gastroenterologist in NY! I may be repetitive, but it’s the truth! Dr. Ascunce’s knowledge and compassion are above all! He takes the time to listen to you and explain. In fact, he will draw you an illustration to make sure you understand what is going on! When you walk out his office you know that he is the BEST!!! Finally, he follows up with a call to see if you are feeling better; making sure that the medicine is working! If you are looking for a gastroenterologist to take care of you! Trust me he is the Doctor for you to see! Go ahead and make that call, you will be greeted by his professional staff!!

My first appointment with Dr. Ascunce was great. He made me feel very at ease and comfortable.
He explained everything in a manner that was professional and accessible. All of my questions were answered and he gave me information that I was able to understand and process with confidence.

I am very grateful to have met Dr. Ascunce - the office visit was on time, pleasant and informative. We were able to schedule a colonoscopy immediately (next day) and the procedure went very well. Fantastic experience from the moment I walked in. Receptionist was friendly, office was extremely clean and did not have to wait. Dr. Ascunce was knowledgeable and took the time to answer all my questions and concerns.

Dr Ascunce is excellent. Very knowledgeable about Gastro matters and related concerns.
Talks to patients in a friendly manner. Explains issues well—including tech terms & related jargon —usually without even being asked.
Smart, focused & practical: asks questions about symptoms that show’s he making sure he has full
understanding of presenting problem & likely causes.
Easy to be with & talk to.

Dr. Ascunce went much further than "the extra mile:" I came to him with an urgent problem that my insurance had denied payment for.
While I was in Dr. Ascunce's office, after we spoke, he phoned my PCP, then a highly recommended surgeon directly. As a result, the surgeon saw me the next day and scheduled what could have been timely and life-saving surgery. Dr. Ascunce's caring, dedication, professionalism and expertise were all exceptional and amazing. I highly recommend him.
